METAL GRADES

A514 Grade Quenched and Tempered Steel Alloys

Known for its toughness at low temperatures, ASTM A514 steel plate, also known as T-1 steel plate, plays an important role in the nation’s infrastructure. Valued for its high yield strength and weldability, A514 steel is widely used for building and bridge frames and is available in all the standard structural steel shapes. Compared to non-heat-treated carbon steel plate, A514 steel plate offers greater toughness and strength. A refined grain structure and heat treatment post processing enables A514 to withstand higher levels of wear, making it a durable, long-lasting choice. Available in A, B, C, E, F, H, J, K, M, P, Q, S, and T grades, A514 can be cut with abrasive cut off saws, as well as plasma, oxy-acetylene, laser, and water jet cutters.
